2 fishes, named for the traditional pebble mosaic
of two fish at the entrance, is a restored medieval house in one of the
oldest parts of Chorio. Situated high up among the winding lanes
and tumbled ruins, the house commands excellent views of both Pedi and
Yialos, and the distant mountains of Turkey. It is about 5
minutes walk up through the lanes; from the shops, tavernas and
bakeries of central Chorio. It is also possible to take the bus to its
highest stop and walk across from there. The harbour is about 20
minutes walk away.

The entrance to the first terrace and the
living area is via a short staircase with a vaulted ceiling. The
living area gives access to the kitchen and dining, above which there
is a moussandra with two single beds. Access to this is by a steep
staircase. Another staircase leads back to the ground floor with
a double bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was the original kitchen,
and has a wash basin set into the old fireplace. This room, with its
vaulted ceiling, is one of the features of the house. It can also be
accessed from the entrance area. Apart from the spacious terrace
outside the living area, equipped for al fresco dining, there is also a
large roof terrace with these wonderful views across the sea to Turkey.
This house is suitable for 2-4
people.
Great for walkers and for those who want
to soak up the atmosphere of a traditional Greek village house away
from the usual tourist areas.
