SYMI'S ENGLISH LANGUAGE NEWSPAPER

The Symi Visitor publishes the only English-medium newspaper on Symi.  The Symi Visitor was founded in the summer of 1997 and is published 12 months of the year.  Published in English and Greek, The Symi Visitor has a wide readership in more than 25 countries world wide.  The Symi Visitor provides much more than just information about where to go and what to do while on Symi although it will tell you that too.  The Symi Visitor covers a wide range of topics ranging from local affairs and developments to culture, history, cuisine, people and nature and more besides. 

 

Whether you are looking for insights into life on a small island with a view to planning a holiday or retirement destination or want to brush up on your knowledge of Greek mythology, whether you are thinking of buying a property in Greece or are interested in reading interviews with celebrity authors and island characters, The Symi Visitor provides you with all these things.  Occasional guest contributors include Marc Dubin from The Rough Guides, Jim Gibbins (author of Searching for Johnny) and Professor Michael Carley from  the School of the Built Environment at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland among others. 

 

The Symi Visitor keeps Diaspora Symiots in touch with their roots, whether they live in Sydney , Australia or Tarpon Springs , Florida . The Symi Visitor keeps property owners in touch with their investment on Symi even while they are at home in Milan , Paris or Johannesburg . The Symi Visitor keeps regular visitors in touch with developments on the island between visits.

 

Although The Symi Visitor is published in English, its readership is completely international and cosmopolitan and this is reflected in the content of the newspaper.

The Symi Visitor is available from tour company rep's, tour and accommodation offices and in many bars and tavernas.

Europe - 40 euros for 1 year, English only and 45 euros for 1 year including Greek supplement. 

Subscriptions within Greece - 10 euros per year.


Rest of the world - 45 euros for 1 year English only and 50 euros for 1 year including Greek supplement.
