Nimborio House - Symi Isalnd Greece
         Symi Island Greece

For those who want to step from the house straight into the sea – and are seeking a remote retreat from the modern world.  Situated at the furthest end of Nimborio, this charming old-world house among the Phoenix palms is more easily reached by sea than by road but its solitude is one of its many charms.

Nimborio was one of the oldest settlements on Symi in ancient times and still retains a mysterious atmosphere very different to the bustling harbour and exuberant Chorio.  Only recently connected to Yialos by a winding dirt road that clings to the rocky coastline, this area is famously quiet.  There is one taverna and a water taxi which connects it to Yialos.   Taxis do not serve this route but it is possible to hire bikes and small cars locally and one of the local supermarkets does deliver to Nimborio.  The house is about 10 minutes walk around the shoreline from the nearest vehicle parking area.

The house sleeps six people in simple traditional accommodation and is perfect for those who want to entertain sailing friends anchored in Nimborio or for whom gentle moonlight walks home after dinner in the harbour are a delight rather than a chore.

Amenities are functional but basic.  One of the two original kitchens has been converted into a cupboard.

The other kitchen is equipped with simple gas rings.

There are two basic showers/WCs.
