We would like to say a big 'Thank You' to everyone at Symi Visitor Accommodation & Iapetos Village for our recent stay on Symi.

We have been visiting Symi now for over 15 years & have always enjoyed our holiday, but our visit this time was made extra special by the wonderful accommodation & friendly staff at Iapetos Village,it could not be faulted in any way.

We are sorry not to have got chance to say goodbye before we left, but as usual we were making the most of our last morning on Symi & nearly missed the ferry!

Thank You all again,we will call in to see you next visit.

Best Wishes for the future

Hi Wendy and Adriana,

It was a sad reality to find that when I woke this morning the only steps I had to decend were those in my house! Who needs the gym when in Symi?!!

Thank you very much for your help and for organising our stay in Villa Cassandra - lovely little property.

Looking forward to visiting again one day......

Kind regards,
Kim

Hello

Back to Norway!
We had a good and relaxing week on Symi. The house was great, with a perfect location. The relaxing hour on the balcony with a beer after a day on the beach was great. I will recommend both the island and Symi Visitor Accommodation to all my friends.

When we arrived in Rhodes early Sunday morning, we went to Plaza Hotel as Wendy recommended to store our luggage there before we went on to the airport. We told them that this was a recommendation from you, which they really appreciated. We had a good breakfast there before we had some hours in the old town of Rhodes.

Best regards,

Dear Adriana,

I just wanted to thank you for all your help during my stay at Lover's Corner.
I loved the room and especially the terrace. It was my first holiday on my own and it was really the perfect place to stay, thanks for recommending it.

Thank Wendy for all her info and help and special thanks to Nicholas for sorting out all my electrical problems so promptly! You were all great.

I left some wine for everyone with Nikolas from the Supermarket, I hope you got it and have a nice drink on me once it's chilled :-)

After a long long day in Rhodes Town, I got home at 3.30 in the morning so still recovering and trying to get used to the noise of London again!

Thanks again.

All the best,

Jean

Dear Wendy and Adriana

Our journey back was fine and we are now at home surrounded by piles of washing!  I really can't thank you enough for all the hard work and organisation you all put in both on the day and in the months before to help us get the best wedding day I could have imagined. It was wonderful; in fact the whole week was brilliant. Sophia's house was the perfect base for us. Everyone else in our party who booked their accommodation through you was really pleased as well, so I think you have done a brilliant job all round.

Best of luck with any other weddings you are organising on Symi this summer. I hope they go as  smoothly as ours did. And I hope you all get a chance to relax and have a break, too!

With love and thanks
Becci

Hi Wendy

Just a brief note to say thank you for all your help.  It was superb accommodation and it was great to see Symi out of season.  I'll be back - and asking you again for help.

Best wishes

"Symi is geared up towards self-catering holidaymakers wanting to stay a minimum of one week. There are plenty of beautiful properties to choose through Symi Visitor. This type of accommodation can be expensive (starting at 45 euro per night out of season) and if you are planning to stay less than a week, Symi Visitor may only be able to book you into the Hotel Fiona.

The hotel is a small family affair with maybe a dozen rooms. The hotel's namesake works reception, Michalis is often heard playing the piano and their daughter shuffles about serving breakfast.

Our room was simple but cozy and clean with blue shutters that opened out onto a small balcony and STUPENDOUS views.

We never tired of sitting at all hours soaking up the atmosphere from our perch, day.... or night!

It was in a traffic-free part of the old town, but a taxi can pull up fairly close and the bus stop isn't much further along."

Dear Symi Visitor team,

I have just realised that it is now almost Christmas and I still haven't written to thank you all so much for making our visit to Symi in September such a marvellous time.

We are probably just part of the blur of visitors you help every year but we did truly appreciate the trouble Adriana took to help us book into the Hotel Fiona, and the way Wendy organised the lift up there and back down again with all our luggage on arrival and departure. It turned rather a daunting trip into a real pleasure and we were so grateful.

We are now starting to plan another Symi break and looking at all your accommodation suggestions on the Symi visitor website.

A very happy Christmas holiday to you all and we hope to see you next year,

Hi to everyone at Symi Visitor,

We just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for your help and advice on our recent visit to Symi.
You found us Anna's Little House to stay in with only a week's notice which was impressive as we thought we would'nt make it after our holiday was cancelled by Kosmar, we really enjoyed staying there and discovering the island by lots of walks and our calf muscles have now just about recovered nicely!!!!
We look forward to visiting beautiful Symi again sometime in the future,

Kind regards and thanks again

Dear Adriana and Wendy,
I just wanted to put in writing a big thank you for all your help in booking the accommodation and transfer to Symi for our recent holiday.

You were so helpful, clear and prompt in the information you gave me - it made the whole experience a joy. As for Sofia's House - what can I say?! - it was absolutely perfect and we felt honoured to be staying in such an outstanding and historical property.

It was Chris and I's third visit to Symi and first with our 2 year old daughter, Amelie, who given her general happiness on the holiday I think loves the Island as much as her parents!!!

We will be back very soon.
Many many thanks again.
Best wishes

Dear Adriana, Wendy, David, Kevin and all at Symi Visitor,
I wanted to let you know what a privilege it was for us to spend a week at Villa Irene (July 28 through August 4).
We were so impressed by the grace and individuality of the house and its immediate surroundings.  I loved the maze that is Upper Chorio, and by the final day, I can confidently say that I had traversed every little street, path and way in that area in our daily search for the house.  What an adventure!
Thank you for all your help and work to make our introduction to Symi so positive.

Best regards,

Dear all

Just a quick note to say we are home safely and back into the old routine.

As always, we had a wonderful holiday. Having booked the Cottage through you for a number of years now, it is all too easy to become complacent and to assume that things will go without a hitch, without recognising that it's your hard work that makes everything perfect. So, our thanks to you all - we look forward to seeing you next year.

Have a good winter.

Hi Wendy
I just want to thank you so very much for organising a taxi to pick us up off the ferry at Rhodes and to take us to the airport.

It made the whole process so much easier for my wife. Yannis was very helpful and kind too.
Thank you all there at the Symi Visitor. I really do feel that through your efforts you have done so much for Symi.
Regards and all being well, we will see you next year, same time.

Hi Wendy, Adriana, Nick and Fiona (and I didn't catch the other lady's name who works in the hotel)

This is Laura Ward (formerly Colley) and Ian here. Just dropping you a note to say what a fantastic time we had in Symi on 15-17th July this year. The hotel studio was absolutely perfect - the decor, surroundings, views, bathroom were so nice and remarkably clean. Perfect for a honeymoon getaway (from the family back in Rhodes!). I can still remember sitting out on the balcony drinking my wine reading a book as the sun was setting and the ever so slight, warm fragrant breeze blowing through the voiles. The lovely Greek style breakfasts ate out on the terrace - everything was fantastic We had such a relaxing, fantastic time the beaches were beautiful the water was so clear. The 2 restaurants that we ate in were lovely (one near the Fiona that belongs to the taxi boat man), and one on the harbour. We even enjoyed walking the steps to and from the harbour (although going up was always harder than coming down - but by then we'd had a couple of drinks and everything seemed mellow!!!).

I would most definitely recommend Symi and in Particular Hotel Fiona to anyone - and we can't wait to come back maybe on our anniversary in a few years time!!!

Kind Regards

Laura and Ian Ward

Mountains of thanks for saving our holiday this year. Once again never made it to Karpathos ( 3rd year running ) but Symi is more than a great substitute.

Being greeted off the Marina ferry by Wendy saying " you're not supposed to be here yet " to go and get a beer in Pachos and we'll sort you out saved us from what was a bit of a bad start to four and a half weeks in Greece.

True to her word rooms were found and our holiday started for real.

I cannot thank them or praise their expertise enough.

Thanks again

Hi Wendy/Adriana,

Just to say thanks for arranging our stay at the Hotel Fiona and the last day at the Hotel Hermes in Rhodes.

I have a hatred of package trips to Greece and have travelled independently to most of the islands over the years.

Your service took the hassle out of finding accommodation on arrival but left us with the freedom travelling independently gives you.

Thanks very much - will be recommending you to friends and colleagues.

Hello Wendy and Nic

I would just like to thank you for organising our wonderful stay on Symi. We of course especially were very well entertained by you both that night at drinks.

I'm sure that all the arrangements you made for the wedding (on the day we left) went perfectly well.

We're on Skiathos now, and I have to say Nic, you'd have a much better chance of getting a lawn-mowing round here.

Thanks again

Dear Wendy and Symi Visitor

Sorry we are a bit late giving response to you - but we would indeed like to say that we had a wonderful holiday in April in Symi staying in Villa Rose. The house is very nice and it was excellent for five people, placed in a fine area in Chorio - and with a wonderful view. We had some great and long walks in the mountains, very peaceful beaches (none but us and some goats) and some fine nights in the tavernas or in the house. Meeting with the owner of the house was great, a very nice guy - and seeing Symi in springtime was fantastic, even in a day with rain and one with dust-storm.

Hopefully we will return one day - best wishes from Inger, Ib, Troels, Nina and Viktoria

NB We enjoyed  reading the newspaper very much, it's a great chance for tourist/Symi fans like us to get some "insight" knowledge. We also met and had coffee with an old friend, Maria Zuruvi, whom we first met in 1992 when we stayed in part of her house (at that time I do not think Symi Visitor rented out houses. This was through Skiby in Denmark) Maria is a wonderfull little lady and she provied us with fresh lemon and eggs for our breakfast, so if you meet her, send our love! She will remember us if you mention the "little"one of our three kids, Viktoria, who is now 16 but only 2 when she first came to Symi.

Love from us all, enjoy your summer

Hello Wendy and Adriana

Just a quick e mail to say thank you very much for making our holiday perfect.   We found out lots about our family and saw many sights even more than we had hoped for.   The Greek Easter in Pireaus was something we will never forget, maybe one day we will celebrate it on Symi.  I could not believe that my mum was a cousin of Alexopolous, the Symi photographer.  We were only haggling over the price of sponges with him the day before.

I have seen the photograph of us on the Web Site,  it looks pretty good.  We will never forget our Symi holiday and hope to return there sometime but without the hectic schedule this time.  Everything went clockwork, the flights, the ferry crossing and even Stematis our local taxi driver!

Once again a very big thank you from me and my mum.

Regards
Shirley

Hi,

Just want to write to you and tell you how much me and my wife like your site. We are coming to Symi in June and we really like all the information that we can read on your site, It will be our first visit to Symi and our second time to Greece. We were on Crete in September  last year.  I think that we will find Symi more relaxing...........  After looking around on your site we realise that your island is the  most beautiful of all the islands in Greece.

Wishing it was June right now........

Hello Wendy and Adriana,

Just a quick note to thank you for all your help in making our first attempt at doing-it-ourselves a roaring success. Despinas Apartments are very good and apart from the hulk of the "Lazy Days" being smack bang in the middle of your vista, have brill views over the bay.

My wife, having stayed at the Pedi Hotel last year, was initially a little bit down with Despinas. But quickly warmed to the apartment, the mezzanine bedroom, she appreciated the views and the fact that being round the corner from the main harbour area, the area was quiet and restful, and we had Nos beach just up the road. At the moment we're planning to come back next year - so she wasn't that disappointed!

Cheers for now,

John Gooding.

Dear Wendy and Co,

Just a brief note to say a huge thank you for all your help. We had the most relaxing, wonderful holiday in Symi. Everything we had heard proved to be true and it really was just perfect. We were really impressed by Hotel Fiona. The views are spectacular and it was comfortable and spotless. An excellent base. We also really appreciated the arrangement with the Plaza in Rhodes -  it made a huge difference to our final few hours in Greece (although thanks to Thomas Cook we were a few hours longer than expected!)

Many, many thanks. We will most definitely be back!!

Best wishes Fiona & Alasdair Downes

Wendy

Just a quick note to say a big 'THANK YOU' for everything you did
regarding our wedding.  The day was so relaxed and we enjoyed every minute of it.  In fact the whole holiday was the best we have ever had on Symi in all the years we have been travelling there.  So much so that now we are back in England we wonder why we stay here and the prospect of living on Symi is more and more appealing.  It's not just the holiday feeling etc its the whole way of life on Symi which was brought home to us.

Anyway thanks once again for all you did and I look forward to seeing you soon - we may need your help with coming to live out there in the not too distant future.

One thing we forgot to do was subscribe to the Symi visitor - how do we do that now we are back in England?

Look forward to hearing from you soon keep in touch

Noel & Ian

Dear Wendy and Adriana,

Thank you for organising our holiday in Hotel Fiona this year, we had an absolutely wonderful time, going independent definitely has its advantages, we left last Wednesday on 08:45am ferry, arrived home in Oxfordshire at 18:30pm! I am still in Greek mode and driving everybody at work nuts talking about Symi all the time.
Thanks again

Kind regards
Lesley & John  Butler

Dear Wendy and Adriana:
Thank you for such great arrangements.  We are only disappointed in the winds that kept us two days late arriving.  I've just been reading about the Persian invasions also confounded by the winds, so they can be forgiven a little.   We love the Harani!   Nik's taxi arrangements for our pre dawn departure were fantastic;  that was wonderful service.  We think you are all great. I trimmed the seed pods from the Oleanders because our garden people here recommend that for good future growth.  (I have a huge Oleander
garden) I hope that was OK.  With more time we could really get into that garden!

Adriana, my favorite recipes so far are the grilled peppers.  For practical reasons I just baked them in a very hot oven with the same effect. It's a great sauce!  Thank you.  Also I love your twice weekly column; it is becoming the first thing I check on Mondays and Fridays.

Warmest greeting to all of you.
Patricia Taylor

Dear Wendy & Adriana

I am now back in quite sunny Bournemouth - a fraction of the
temperature in Symi.

Just to say what an absolutely wonderful time we had in Symi.  The
villa was fabulous - we left a note for Helene in her picture gallery saying how we loved the house.

Our trip home was great - no delays - and the chap in the Plaza was a star, let us use the pool and looked after us.  Many thanks, Wendy, for that - despite arranging from your hospital bed !!

Symi is a very special place and I know we will be back.  It's always
a risk taking a mixed-age group of people on holidays but everyone had a good time - the kids certainly left their mark on the local night spots !!
We have already put some pix through on the computer and it now seems like a dream.  We have some good internal shots of the house and views - once we sort them all out I will try an email a few to you which might be of use in your publicity.
Thank you both for all your help before and during the holiday and I
hope Wendy makes a speedy recovery - I'm sure you need all hands on deck for August.

Hope the rest of the season goes really well.

Best wishes to you both.

Diane

Hi Wendy and Adriana,

I just wanted to write and say thank you very much for making the holiday accessible to me, and for the care put into the Harani House welcome. We had a wonderful stay apart from when our friend fell for a mountain goat, quite literally!!  Thus we will be back next year.

I'll check the website to see which place we want to go to.

A question.... is the weather normally as good as we had, for the time of year.  Someone somewhere said that the September temperatures this year were exceptional and should have been the August ones. I liked the temperatures we experienced, so also want to ensure much as possible, that we get the right dates for me to continue worshipping the old sun-god.

Cheerily,

Justine
