The Merchant
House
An
imposing restored
double-storey merchant house
on the
hill behind the Aliki Hotel in Harani, set in a terraced garden. Access is up two flights of
steps from
the
quay side. The lower storey is a comfortable modern apartment for up to
six
people. The
ambience is cool tiles and
breezy Mediterranean living.
Entrance
from the garden terrace
furnished with patio
furniture leads into a salon with a dining area and open plan kitchen
with
electric hob (no oven). A
moussandra
above the kitchen area is fitted with a double bed.
There are two separate double bedrooms and
two bathrooms.

Upstairs
there is a second apartment
for four with a more
traditional feel. This
has two double
bedrooms and two bathrooms, one en suite.
Entrance is from the steps up the side of the property,
leading
into a
large paved courtyard at the back of the house.
This does not have views although there is access to a
roof
terrace on a
private building in the grounds. An
entrance from the courtyard opens into a central hallway with the
bedrooms on
either side. A
large salon runs the full
width of the front of the upper storey with sea views over the roof
tops from
the balcony and windows. An
open plan
kitchen/dining area similar to the one downstairs is on one side of the
salon
and the other side has comfortable sofas for lounging.
This upstairs apartment has a television and
a washing machine.
The
Merchant House is ideal for two families
holidaying
together who want private and communal space.
The two apartments can also be rented separately.
