Villa Rose Symi

Villa Rose is a recently renovated old house just below the windmills in Chorio, with stunning views across the main harbour of Yialos to Nimborios and Turkey beyond. The house is on a quiet pedestrian lane but only a short walk from the bus stop and the Kali Strata steps that lead to Yialos.

The house is on two floors. Upstairs is a raised outer terrace leading through metal doors into a walled traditionally black-and-white pebbled courtyard. From here stairs lead up to a small, higher garden with two more paved terraces, one with beautiful views for early evening drinks. Inside, there is a large sitting room with high painted ceiling, sofa, dining table and French doors to a west harbour-facing balcony.

A raised sleeping platform reached by stairs from the sitting room has full headroom, window, wardrobe and double bed. Off the pebbled courtyard, with table and chairs allowing you to enjoy breakfast al fresco, is the kitchen with a hatch to the sitting room and a spacious tiled bathroom with glass brick shower compartment.

The downstairs is reached by interior stairs or its own outside door and includes two single beds on a platform, sitting area and bathroom with enclosed shower. Two sleeping areas, each with its own bathroom, makes the house suitable for one or two couples with complete privacy or a couple with children. Villa Rose has been renovated with care and attention to give that little extra, allowing you to relax in the surroundings and enjoy the stunning views.

Clients at Villa Rose also have access to a large walled garden directly across from the house. The garden, with flowering bougainvillea, olive tress and a big palm, has the same stunning views as the house. It is an ideal location for meals or drinks, chatting with friends, or just relaxing. The garden has three levels. At the top is a raised patio under a grapevine with banquettes for lounging or meals. Down a few steps, the upper level terrace has four sun-beds on a paved terrace. Steps then lead down to a lower terrace which is a good place for setting up the BBQ or spending some quiet time in total privacy. Overall the garden is nearly 200 sq mtrs of elegant private space.
